Inri Cristo a Brazilian religious leader who claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ on Earth, will face humorous questions at an event at the Theater of Arts in São Paulo, Tuesday.
The Fritada (Fry in English) is a humorous event where comedians invite guests to be “fried” with acidic questions and fun answers. Prior to his appearance, Inri Cristo said in an interview with the Brazilian magazine Folha that he does not fear what will be said to him because he is “unattainable.”
“If someone says any silly things to me, it does not affect me. I will cut the person down to size.”
Provocatively he criticized evangelicals in Brazil as “evanjegues” (evangélicos + jegue in Portuguese, which means evangelicals + donkeys in English).
He also implied that evangelicals were fake and were only about chasing people’s money: “[The evangelicals] have wolves in sheep’s clothing riding over them that blackmail them to confiscate ten percent of their miserable salaries.”
Inri, who has his own church, the “Soust” (Suprema Ordem Universal da Santíssima Trindade), says he does not “blackmail” tithes.
“He, the Lord, the Most High, is what inspires His sons. They see my sincerity and honesty – that is why I expose myself to any media program, so that people can look at me and examine me – they give with their right hands without letting their left hands know how much, as I taught 2,000 years ago.”
The Soust is, according to his website, the formalization of the Kingdom of God on Earth, in the formation of “only one flock and only one shepherd.”
The sect is located in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, where he claims to be the “New Jerusalem.”
Speaking of Christmas, Inri Cristo says that it is a business and pagan day and one of the saddest holidays when the “rich humiliate the poor.”
“It is a day when the little sons of the rich can show the gifts they received while the poor children only get a crumb… and sometimes a toy is left to them. So it is a very sad day for anyone who sees things with the eyes that I see.”
Inri Cristo claims that since his childhood, he has been obeying a powerful voice that speaks inside his head. He begun to consider himself the reincarnation of Jesus in Santiago, Chile when he heard the voice saying “I am your Father. The God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.”
He is used to being called crazy due to his claims, and he has said: “I can be crazy but not dumb. Madness is different from dementia. It is the mother of philosophers, prophets and inventors.”
A Brazilian apologist, Pastor João Flávio Martinez, called Inri Christ a false prophet saying that he wrongly calls himself a reincarnation of Jesus Christ.
According to Martinez, Jesus Christ already resurrected in flesh and has been raised up to heaven, and therefore no one can be a reincarnation of Him. He also emphasized that Jesus already paid for the sins of humanity when He died for us all.
Inri Cristo says that “2012” will be the end of the world. But he then clarifies that 2012 will be the end of the world only “for all those who will die in 2012.”
